The Kronenbourg brewery in France was established in 1664. In those days, the beer became famous for its unique taste and the elegant design of the glass bottle. In the new millennium, glass as a material is once again playing an important role. Westiform lends new freshness to the brand with an illuminated transparency made of glass.
1664 is one of a total of six types of beer brewed by the Kronenbourg brewery for which Westiform has been producing illuminated signage for many years. Westiform also manufactures illuminated advertising elements for Grimbergen, Carlsberg, Fleuron d‘Alsace, Kanterbräu and Kronenbourg.
As a result of using glass as a material, the double-sided illuminated transparency with the dimensions 650 x 550 mm, featuring the brand name 1664, has a filigree, noble appearance. This is precisely what the brewery wanted to achieve. Westiform Ortenberg used an expensive digital printing process directly on the glass. The corporate identity of Kronenbourg features an unmistakeable shade of blue. Reproducing this exact shade was the most difficult task. Westiform succeeded in reproducing a perfect, CI-conform colour shade by mixing different RAL colour shades in coordination with the illuminant.
As the general contractor, Westiform realised the project for the Kronenbourg brewery from A to Z. This included everything from design, prototyping, production to installation at almost 200 locations.
