The centrepiece of ConturaLED is the control element developed by Westiform which automatically regulates the brightness of the LED by using sensors that react to ambient light. The output of the advertising unit adapts automatically to light conditions. As a result, the unit is always illuminated at the correct intensity, and no energy is wasted unnecessarily.

In order to further reduce energy consumption, ConturaLED’s light sources are efficiently distributed within the lighting fixture. Special software is used to calculate the exact number and positions of the light sources necessary for perfect illumination. The LEDs are then placed on a printed circuit board that is adapted to the contours of the advertising unit. This method allows fewer LEDs to be used than in commercially available LED advertising units and further reduces energy consumption.

The advantages of ConturaLED are enormous. Illuminated signage does not appear glaring at night, causes less light pollution and saves up to 90 percent of energy costs. ConturaLED is particularly suitable for advertising units manufactured in large quantities. Thermoformed panels are an ideal application, for example.
